(untitled) a comedy show performed in a gallery

  • Fitzroy Public Gallery 2/125 Smith St Fitzroy VIC 3065 (map)

hey melbourne fringe, it's me nick! some of you might know me as @nickmickpics. if you don't, this is embarrassing for me to think you might.

i've not done a solo at fringe in three years and a lot's happened in that time. i've been nominated for best comedy at dunedin fringe, won a weekly award at adelaide fringe for best emerging artist and i've finally nailed a that vegan bolognese i've been trying (my tip is adding lime zest right at the end).

every year since before i was born my family would visit the same beach for easter: torquay beach, hervey bay. i have more memories of this place than anywhere else in the world. i also think i've taken more photos here than anywhere else.

i've been thinking about that beach a lot lately. i've been obsessively flicking through every photo i can find of this beach for the right photo to say what i'm trying to say. so i've hung them all up in a gallery and i want to tell you their story.

this show is about nostalgia, family, and the torquay caravan park's dumbarse award tradition.

i'm a photographer, comedian and storyteller. this is a show that brings all of that together in a gallery in fitzroy. i hope to see you there xx
